Custom dance costumes for your 2027 season

How it Works

Tell us about your routines

Complete our custom inquiry form with your quantities, design ideas, and required delivery date. We’ll review your request and confirm whether we can accommodate it.

Secure your booking

Once your application is accepted, a non-refundable deposit of $100 per routine secures your place. Your deposit is due within 24 hours and will be credited toward your final invoice. Solo routines also require a $50 design fee in addition to the $100 deposit. The design fee will not be credited toward your final invoice.

Develop your design

We’ll work with your studio on a digital costume mockup. Allow 1–3 weeks for design development once we have your deposit and complete design information.

Confirm and approve

Your studio supplies and confirms each dancer’s measurements. We then send your final design and invoice. Payment confirms your approval and releases your order into production. Allow 8–10 weeks from full payment until delivery to your studio.

Planning Your Order

Deposits and Solo Design Fees

Must be paid in 24 hours of receiving the invoice. They are non-refundable and deposits will be applied towards your final balance, however solo design fees will not.
Quotes

Valid for 45 days. Taxes and shipping are additional, with no additional duties or tariffs charged to you.
Payment

Final invoices are payable within 15 days. Production begins only after full payment, so delayed payment delays delivery.
Measurements

Your studio owner takes and submits individual measurements and confirms them before final payment.
Final Sale

Deposits and design fees are non-refundable. Once the final invoice is paid, orders cannot be changed or cancelled.
Timing

Rush orders are not available.  Orders are 8-10 weeks after the final invoice is paid in full.
Designs

Custom designs are not exclusive to individual studios.

If we don’t have the sizes or quantities your studio needs, contact us about ordering through our custom process. Prima remakes are charged at regular retail price and follow the same deposit, approval, production, and final-sale policies as custom costumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I plan my costume orders? 

Timing depends on which of our two costume options you choose:

In-stock costumes: Orders ship within 2 business days. Most arrive within 1–2 weeks of ordering, depending on your location and delivery times.

Fully custom costumes: Allow 1–3 weeks for the design process, followed by approximately 8–10 weeks for production and delivery, after your final invoice is paid. We recommend starting at least 13-14 weeks before you need your costumes to give the full process enough time.
 What is the difference between In-Stock and Custom Costumes? 

In-Stock Costumes are ready to ship—perfect for studios that love shopping from a catalogue or need costumes on a tight timeline. Simply choose your favorite styles from our available sizes and quantities.

Fully Custom Costumes are new to Limelight Costumes for the 2026–2027 season, and we couldn’t be more excited to help you create something uniquely yours! This VIP experience pairs you with our team to design your dream costumes, with personal guidance every step of the way. Together, we’ll select styles, fabrics, rhinestones, and appliqués to bring your vision to life in a high-quality costume made to each dancer’s measurements.

Fully Custom Costumes start at $225 per costume. Please allow 1–3 weeks for design, followed by approximately 8–10 weeks for production and delivery.

Love an In-Stock style but don’t see the sizes or quantities you need? We can produce it for you! Your order will follow our custom costume process, timelines, and policies, but will be priced at that style’s regular retail price.
Can I mix and match pieces to create a custom look?

Absolutely! Many of our In-Stock pieces mix and match beautifully, and we encourage you to get creative. Combine your favorite pieces to build a look that brings your vision to the stage.

How do I know if your costume company is reputable?

How do I measure dancers accurately for costumes?

For In-Stock Costumes, start with our detailed measuring guide and size charts, available on each product page and in our website’s footer menu. Our costumes use 4-way stretch fabrics with generous give for flexible, forgiving sizing.

For Fully Custom Costumes, each costume is made to the measurements you provide for that dancer, so accurate measurements are essential.

Tips for the best fit:

  • Measure dancers in form-fitting dancewear.
  • Use a soft measuring tape and follow our measuring guide for placement.
  • Record bust, waist, hips, girth, and inseam, if applicable.  For custom additional measurements maybe requested.
  • Keep the tape snug without pulling it tight, and double-check your measurements.
  • For In-Stock Costumes, if a dancer falls between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size and making small alterations if needed.
  • For Fully Custom Costumes, provide each dancer’s actual measurements rather than adding extra room.

What are your return and exchange policies?

Our policies differ for In-Stock Costumes and Custom Costumes, so please review the details below before ordering.

In-Stock Costumes

We do not offer exchanges, but we accept returns that meet our return policy criteria.

To request a return, email info@limelightcostumes.com within 15 days of receiving your costume. Returned garments must reach us within 30 days of purchase, in clean, unworn condition with all tags intact.

Once your return is approved, we’ll refund the product price and applicable taxes. Original shipping charges are non-refundable, and customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

Garments that do not meet our return criteria may be shipped back to you at your request and expense, or forfeited. Please see our Return Policy for full details.

Custom Costumes & In-Stock Style Reorders

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on custom costumes or costumes produced to order. Alterations are not included.

This policy also applies to Prima costumes ordered from our In-Stock catalogue that we produce for you in additional sizes or quantities that are not currently in stock. These made-to-order costumes follow our Custom Costume policy, even though the style appears in our In-Stock collection.
Will I be charged duties or customs fees on costume orders?

We are a 100% Canadian-owned company that does not pass the tarrifs or duties onto our customers, which means there are no duties or tariffs for Canadian or U.S. customers. You’ll only pay the product cost, applicable taxes, and the shipping rate calculated at checkout based on your location and order value.  No hidden duties, brokerage or tariff charges will be applied.
What happens if a costume arrives damaged?

We stand behind our quality. If you believe your costume has a manufacturing defect, contact us at info@limelightcostumes.com within 15 days of receiving your order and include photos of the issue. Once reviewed, we will determine whether a replacement is applicable. Please note: general wear and tear or issues related to improper sizing are not considered defects.
Can I cancel or edit my costume order after placing it?

In-Stock Costumes: Please email info@limelightcostumes.com as soon as possible to request a cancellation or change. Orders ship quickly, so we cannot guarantee that your request can be accommodated. If your order has already shipped, please refer to our Return Policy above.

Fully Custom Costumes & In-Stock Style Reorders: These orders are final and cannot be canceled or changed.

This includes Prima costumes produced for you in sizes or quantities that are not currently in stock. Alterations are not included.
What payment options do you accept? Can I pay a deposit?

In-Stock Costumes: Pay by credit card directly on our website at checkout.

Fully Custom Costumes & In-Stock Style Reorders: Payments follow our deposit and order payment process, including any applicable solo design fees. We’ll email you invoices for each required payment, which you can pay securely online by credit card.
